On August 1 we went to the Harpia plot. It was a lot of up and
down small ravines. I did not enjoy them as much as I would have liked to
because of an upset stomach. Have no fear, this explorer is pressing on just fine. While out today I was able to see some fun fungus,
two lizards (only able to take pictures of one), and the frog that makes a pain
killer 10 times stronger than morphine. The frog was cool, little red, yellow,
brown, and light blue. I did not touch it or try to kiss it. The frog was
hopping around a lot making it hard enough to get a picture, let alone a kiss.
We have decided that we like the Harpia plot. There are different Inga and some
of them have herbivores. This means that today we were able to get our goal
again which made everyone happy. We also went back early enough that we were able to finish work before dinner. I always like it the best when we finish
before dinner because this allows us to have a little free time. Sometimes during free time we watch movies that people have brought with them. My team is
confused about the rating system for American movies. Last night we
watched Hildago and
they couldn't believe that it was not R because of the wounding of the
horse. It was really interesting to hear their point of view. Honestly I
can see why the ratings confuse them, they often confuse me too.
Recently I have been told that the workers will sometimes take people
fishing with them. Tonight at dinner I learned how to ask if I could go
fishing. I was told yes! Sunday after lunch I will be going fishing in a canoe.
I am so excited! I will most likely only catch piranhas, but I am okay with
that. I know they have piranha, catfishes, and a really large fish called
paiche. I can't wait to do it, fishing in the Amazon jungle!
