A Strange Noise in the Jungle

Today was a typical day. We found lots of Inga; some with herbivores and some without. We have been exploring the gaps for Inga and that is being successful. Today I only saw caterpillars and spiders. Not too exciting. One of the primate researchers saw a tapir (a very large endangered bizarre looking animal) only a few feet away from them. I think that would be way cool, but it is not common thing. While in a gap we heard a strange new sound. It sounded like a strange cow. After listening to it a couple of times we decided it was human and we should make the sound back at them. I did a lovely impression of the sound. Later after dinner we asked one of the primate researchers if they heard the sound. It turned out that it was the person we asked who had made the noise. He had heard my voice and wanted to make a creepy sound. My voice is very distinctive and carries well is how my team describes it. I do know that I talk loud compared to the Spanish speakers. Well once he made the sound he realized that it was not creepy but he kept with it anyways. We all laughed really hard when he realized that we had realized that it was a human and not an animal. Well that was my day.
Now onto random stuff. We now have a fan in our lab that we swiped from a closet. The fan is wonderful because it help me not to feel like a steamed vegetable. One the baby turtles is almost dead. It is hard for M and I to always take care of them, so we were under the impression that some of the workers would help. It appears that they aren't and the turtles are needing lots of attention.  All of M's 16 turtles are named Keith, my 16 are Tim(like the song children's song), Z has one that died named Chuck, and S has one that is named Trevor. It is Trevor that is sick/ almost dead. We are trying to save him, but don't think he will make it. We are thinking it is time to let the go at the lake. The turtles are five months old. We have tried hard to take care of them. I hope they are going to make it!
